           Racing to Read 5k Run & Walk presented by US Bank

Saturday, June 14 at 9 a.m.

 

Net proceeds from registrations and sponsor funding benefit the Kenton County Public Library Foundation’s award-winning Read Racer pre-school literacy initiative, which delivers books, reading materials, recordings and programs to over 2,500 preschool children in Kenton County daycares, preschools, and Head Start centers each month. 􀂊 It’s gone green with recycled products, a hybrid lead car from Lexus, solar powered demonstrations, recycling areas and more!

 

For the Families:

Children are invited to participate in the free Kids’ Fun Run during the race. Families are invited to compete as teams. Any four members of a family can participate as a team. All team members are required to fill out individual entry forms and submit together in one envelope.

 

Awards:

􀂊 Overall male and female runners and walkers receive a free six-month membership to  Silverlake or Better Bodies, gift certificate for a free pair of shoes from Bob Roncker’s Running Spot, a book gift card and a flower bouquet.

􀂊 Top three male and female finishers in the running and walking age divisions receive a gift certificate to Bob Roncker’s Running Spot and a one-month pass to Silverlake or Better Bodies

􀂊 Top three teams in the family division receive a six-month family membership to Silverlake or Better Bodies and gift certificates to Bob Roncker’s Running Spot.

􀂊 A three-month membership to Silverlake or Better Bodies to be given to the winner of each age group.

 

Course:

The relatively fl at, 3.1 mile shaded, course begins and ends at the Mary Ann Mongan Library in Covington and goes through historic Covington and by the river. A map is available online at www.kentonlibrary.org. Roads open to traffic at 10:15 a.m.  For participant safety, pets are not permitted at the event.

Individuals: Postmark the form and money by June 6: $20 (includes technical running T-shirt*)

Family Teams: $75 (includes adidas ® performance T-shirt for each member*)

                       

Online Registration:

Online registration at sprunning.com closes at midnight, Wednesday, June 11.  Packets will be available for pick-up on race day only.

 

Race Day Registration:

Begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Mary Ann Mongan Library: $25, includes an adidas ® performance running T-shirt*

Family Teams: $85, includes an adidas ® performance running T-shirt* for each team member

Waiver/Release: In consideration of the acceptance of my entry, I hereby waive, discharge and release on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors and assigns, all claims of any nature arising from my participation in the Racing to Read 5k Run and Walk, and do hereby release the Kenton  County Public Library, Kenton County Public Library Foundation Board, Kenton County, the City of Covington, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Steve Prescott, all sponsors, workers, volunteers and officials from any claim whatsoever arising from my participation in this event. I agree to abide by all rules for participation, and acknowledge that the Kenton County Public Library may refuse or return my entry at its discretion. I understand the risks involved in such a run/walk, and that I am physically fit and have trained adequately in preparation. I also give my permission to the Kenton County Public Library and its Foundation to use any photographs, video or other recording of me that are made during the course of this event.
